Daily Threads: Dotty

{Mossimo Polka Dot Dress (similar), Belk Drape Cardigan (similar), Mossimo T-strap Wedges (similar)}

I considered swapping this dress out for a different one - I'm honestly not crazy about it. It's so cute in my closet, but as soon as I put it on I was confused. I haven't worn this in about three years (yikes, I know), but I've kept it for some reason - so he's getting his face-time now. I have another way to remix it, but I also have a little face-lift/DIY in store for this dress. I can't decided which will win... either way, I can't wait to do it and share!

In other clothing news, all three of these pieces are making their 30 for 30 Winter Edition debut. I have several items in this remix that haven't been worn - which makes me feel better. I really need to put all these pieces together in my closet (yeah, I haven't done this yet) so remixing might get a little easier. Note to self.

Notice anything new about these pictures? They are photoshopped! I've been googling, youtubing, and searching blogs with tutorials and also just been playing around in the program to learn my way around. I am no where close to knowing what I want to know, but this internet thing sure does help out! I put a few color layers on these photos via Sydney's tutorial. I'm loving this look!

This dress looks great on you! And the photos look great, just wished there were a few more posted. I need to work on my photo quality. I don't have an slr or even photoshop yet but it's something I'm working towards.

Please share any other cool photo tricks you learn!

You've got to try actions! There are TONS of free ones out there for photoshop and PSE (which I use) and they are such a help. You can get Syd's look with just a few clicks instead of having to do it all yourself! It's super grea. Also, used your fishtail tutorial on my hair this morning and have already received compliments! Thanks!

Interested to see how you style {or DIY} this little number in the future. For the record, I think it's adorable {as are you}. But I know how those pieces can be {cute in your closet, not so much on your body}. Hopefully this challenge gives you some addition inspiration to style the be-jezus out of it!

ps, love the photoshopped pictures!

I actually really love that dress! It looks really cute on you. Aaaand I love your blog :) I don't however, love Syndney's editing style - it's hard to see what the true colors of the clothes are! But it's sometimes fun and does make for a pretty picture. :)

I think this dress is adorable right now, but it would be really fun to see what you do with it.

I not too sure what you don't like about the dress...I think it's quite cute!

Both times I've done the challenge I made sure to include items I had never worn so I was forced to try something new.

I think the dress looks cute on you. Sometimes you don't "feel" an item in your closet though - I'll be curious to see how you reimagine it.

Very cool photoshop filters. I tried Sydney's tutorial once and I liked the way it turned out, I just don't have the patience to do it on a regular basis.

Nice work! I've yet to figure photoshop out!

The editing is awesome! Sydney's tutorial is majorly helpful. I can't wait until I can get photoshop one day! We had it in college and boy do I miss it.

I love this dress! But I totally know what you mean about something looking cute in theory, and not as cute on. However, I think this looks great on you. Can't wait to see what you do with it next!

Your dress is really cute! The belt helps it from being sack-like. Cute outfit for the middle of February!

I love the editing! And the strap wedges OMGGGG. I've never owned T-strap shoes before but it looks like I should start...

I think this outfit looks really good. I would never be able to wear such a spotty dotty colorful dress.

I've only been following for a short time but I'm sure you don't have kids yet right? Because I think it'd be illegal for you to have kids and legs like those... *jealous*

You seriously can't say that it doesn't look good on! That dress is adorable!

What a better time than a 30x30 to figure out how to wear it too :-)

I really like the dress on you! So cool to remix pieces you've had forever. I'm feeling good about the 30 I'm wearing all pieces that haven't been showcased yet so it's a good feeling.

I really like the dress! The fabric is awesome - I feel like I can never find a really cute dress in a patterned material. Everything I always find is solidsolidsolid. :/ Good luck with Photoshop! Playing around with it and just constantly googling "how do I do this" is the best way to learn! :)

You did a great job with the editing, I barely know how to sharpen a image so the layers are a no-go. This dress is so cute, I can't wait to see how your going to remix or diy it.

ps. The dress would be cute as a tunic too! :)
