Review: HANAair Professional Hair Dryer

Last month I was sent a HANAair Professional Hair Dryer from Misikko to use and review! It was really a blessing because my current hair dryer has been carrying out a long, slow, and painful death. Seriously, I've had it for years and it has started sparking a little - scary, but I dealt with it - but now I don't have to!

When I received my hair dryer, it was a pleasant surprise to open the package and find tons of goodies from Misikko! Some of my goodies included a flat iron mat, ceramic round brush, Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner, and a hair dryer bag for storage and travel - which is a fabulous bag to have!

After digging through the goodies and finding the dryer box, I couldn't wait to pull the actual dryer out. It's medium sized, a decent weight, and has a sleek, black design. One of the most fabulous features is the extra-long power cord. You guys, this cord is over 10 feet long - I measured. Having a long power cord is quite the luxury. Other features of this dryer include two fan speeds, three heat settings, and a cold shot button. It's also shaped for easy handling and the motor is a lot quieter than my previous dryer.

This particular hair dryer has ion technology which conditions hair and reduces static electricity (which, let's be honest, isn'ts flattering for anyone). This dryer also is designed to promote healthy hair and provide antibacterial protection. Bottom line, not all hair dryers are created equally! I'm not in the hair care business, but I think it's safe to say that this hair dryer is top-shelf selection. 

Before providing a review I really wanted to use the dryer a few times and a couple different ways. Most times, I throw my head upside down and just dry; other times I use a round brush. It didn't matter how I used the dryer, my hair always felt soft and dried quickly - a double whammy! I love this thing.

Over the {Long} Weekend

I worked Saturday and Monday on this holiday weekend, but it still felt like a weekend - which is pretty amazing. Friday, after work, we headed to downtown Montgomery to try out Lek's Railroad Thai - an authentic Thai restaurant that's a part of Union Station. We had sushi, wine, and Pud Thai - all delicious. The parking deck beside the station has a cross-walk on the top floor that crosses over all the train tracks and leads to an over look. We made it out just in time for the sunset. 

Before leaving for work on Saturday, I picked off the first three cherry tomatoes from our plant! They were delicious. Saturday evening we grilled out with some friends.

Sunday we were lazy. I don't have a picture for that, but just imagine us in our pj's, sleeping in to an unmentionable time, watching tv, eating snacks, taking naps, and Maeby sleeping through it all. 

Monday I worked about a half of a day. After work I went to Earth Fare to pick up some delicious veggies and some awesome looking steaks for grilling. Husband took care of the steaks and I dealt with the veggies. It was delicious. 

After dinner we headed downtown. The fireworks were going off near the high school stadium, but we decided to set up shop behind Main St, at the park by the river. It was nice seeing all the children run around and play and once the fireworks started everyone was still and silent - it was quite the site. 

About halfway through we decided to dodge traffic and head out. Luckily, we took a different route out of downtown and ended up directly under the light show! So we parked on the side of the dark road, rolled down the windows and sun roof and enjoyed the grande finale - just the two of us, directly under the fireworks. It was breathtaking and amazing. 

4th of July Giveaway

When it comes to holiday attire, I always try to be festive without going overboard (unless this dress was in-stock, then I might re-consider). This weekend is no different. I wanted to wear something that was patriotic, trendy, and appropriate for 90-degree weather. I found this fabulous neon, electric blue Nicole by Nicole Miller dress at JCPenney not too long ago, and it seemed to suit me well for this red, white, and blue holiday!

I am in love with this dress - the color is gorgeous and the design is clean, but intriguing. It's perfect for dressing up or down, it's interesting without being obnoxious, and it's cool enough for summer! I thought I would share with you all two looks with this dress sine there are so many different activities that take place on the 4th of July.

The first few pictures I'm wearing a more casual look - a belted waist and some gladiator sandals. This look is perfect for a festival, parade, or a backyard bbq. I took off the belt and traded in the sandals for pumps and created a more dressy look - great for a fancier dinner celebration or wedding.

Recipe: Bacon Pancakes

Husband and I often have breakfast for dinner. Usually some combination of bread and meat; pancakes or waffles with bacon or hot sausage. When I came across this pin, my mouth dropped open and off to the kitchen I went. Why hadn't I ever thought about this? It's a pretty simple process, but I photoed the steps anyway.

Need: 

Pancake mix

Bacon

Directions:

1. So I just pulled out a box of Bisquick and made pancake mix* according to the directions on the box.

2. Fry up the bacon.

 

3. I used our griddle instead of a pan - mostly so I could cook more than one at a time - so I could get these in my mouth faster. 

4. I got the griddle to the appropriate temperature and then slapped down a pat of butter. I use butter for added flavor and it helps to create a crispy (and delicious) edge on each pancake. 

5. I used a measuring cup (I think 3/4 c. size) to pour the batter in the long, oval shape. 

6. Once the batter goes down, I laid a strip of bacon on top. 

7. Once the edges begin to bubble and appear to be cooking, I flip the pancakes. 

8. I let the other side fully cook and then pile the pancakes onto my plate! 

These are just as delicious as they look. If you are someone who eats pancakes and bacon for breakfast or dinner I highly recommend giving this a go. I promise you won't be disappointed! I think this is good for kids to participate in making and they will enjoy eating them as well!

*When I make pancakes or waffles I always add a bit of vanilla extract to the batter for added flavor. I don't have a particular amount I add - I just eye-ball it. I would say a teaspoon for smaller batches and a tablespoon for larger ones.
