Daily Threads: Mrs. Mustard

{J Crew Ruffle Cami (similar) , Mossimo V-neck Sweater (similar), Banana Republic Denim Trousers (similar), Isaac Mizrahi T-Strap Pumps (or similar)}

Today husband, his parents, and I are out and about. Visiting the town they used to live in, roaming flea markets, and eating some delicious bbq. Hope you all have a fabulous Saturday!

Daily Threads: Rainbow Bright

Still very cold here, but I tried to beat it best I could today. I threw on my brightest item (which were conveniently  corduroy!), a blanket-sized scarf, and I wore a coat. I was still freezing. The cold won. Again. Score: 0-2.

I played with the pictures today. I used a cross-processing effect on them - hope you don't mind. It's very different from the way I normally edit my photos, but it's fun. And I like it. And I don't look so pale. I look orange. Which, now that I think about it, is a lot worse than pale. I can't win today.

It's the weekend! Even though Fridays are still (technically) work days, I've always considered Friday the weekend - even when I had classes or clinics. They are easy to get through and then you are free! For a couple days at least! This weekend husband's parents are coming to visit from Savannah and we are super excited to have them! I love having visitors, especially family and close friends - want to stop by?

P.S. In case you were wondering, I'm pulling for the Steelers. I have Black and Yellow on repeat this weekend.

*Also, check out my "Why I Remix" post over at Kendi's blog!*

Hope you have a happy weekend.

Daily Threads: These Pictures are Deceiving

Despite the smiles and steady hair, the temperatures were miserably low and the wind was unforgiving. (Miserably low for this girl is anything in the 30's) But I made it through the picture taking alive - more importantly, my fingers and face made it. When it was all over I felt like Audrey Griswold while picking out the family Christmas tree.

I'm so ridiculous. Over half the country is buried under several feet of snow and I can hardly bare the 30's. But seriously, I'm not a cold-kinda-gal. Unless there's snow. Then I'll ruff it out - because it's gorgeous.

Moving on... looks like my subconscious still puts me in dark ensembles when there's an overcast. Not surprised. It always happens - without fail. I don't mind it, though. Gray is my new favorite neutral. Let's hope we see the sun tomorrow!

Daily Threads: A Silhouette

{Mossimo Ruffle Blouse | Merona Black Cardigan | similar skinny jeans | similar booties}

I apologize. This lighting is horrible - you can really only see my silhouette. But it was raining. All day. If I wanted to be outside it was in a breezeway. The only thing you are really missing out on is the ruffle detail of the shirt, but this shirt is going to be pretty popular for the next thirty days, so hopefully you'll get a better look at it next time. Stupid rain. And stupid storm! The power went out for an entire 10 seconds, and now I have to re-set all the clocks in this place. Ugh - don't you hate that? I do.

Moving on to these shoes! I love them! I have wanted a pair of cognac, lace-up booties for a while and these were worth the wait! They look super high and uncomfortable, but there's a platform - which is every heel-lover's best friend. They are my new favorite pair of shoes!

Daily Threads: Colorblock

{Gap Colorblock TeeTarget Black Skinny Pants (similar), UO Suede Pump, Target Cognac Belt}

Here we go again! Another round of remixing, but this time with warmer and different pieces. The pictures are deceiving, huh? Well, while 30 of the 50 states are being hit with possibly the largest winter storm ever, down here in the southeast there is sun and warmth - and that means short sleeves and rolled pants to start this winter remix - hope you don't mind. I love the south, but I hate when spring gets lost. Sometimes we jump straight from winter to summer without notice, and that hurts my heart. While I have a love-hate relationship with spring (it's because of you,evil allergies!), I do love the cool morning and warm afternoons, the light dresses, and the blooming flowers.

Ok, that paragraph was getting out of hand and I needed to start a new one. Back to remixing! I'm doing it again! Remixing offers new ways to enjoy the wardrobe you already have. It pushes creativity and offers a new perspective on your own style. So I'm here. Again. To see what else I can get out of my closet! One down, twenty-nine to go!
