Neon

sweater: F21, pants: H&M, shoes: Tory Burch, clutch: hand-made

I'm not going to lie, this is definitely my go-to outfit as of lately; it's comfortable (cause it's jeans and a sweater), it's not the norm (cause it's bright lime and cropped), and it's easy (again, cause it's jeans and a sweater). I really do love this sweater; it's probably one of my favorite purchases and I'm surprised I don't have it in all available colors.

Is it really already Monday? Eh. Moving on.
This is my favorite kind of look - simple and comfortable.

I adore this look. So relaxed and laid back. Perfect for the weekend or traveling.

I think buying a new cough is in our future. What we have has been great, but it's definitely see its days and I'm itching to get a neutral colored piece. Love the whole set up of this room.

When summer rolls around I'm contemplating going blonde. Maybe not platinum, but some shade of blonde.

I've recently drawn this chandelier on our framed chalkboard (DIY here) and I love it.

I'd like to do a lot of resting this weekend, but I'd also like to complete a DIY project. I'm thinking maybe these faux mercury glass or a framed monogram.

Loud

Between the bright red pants and the busy, chevron top, I'm pretty sure this outfit is one of the loudest I've worn. Believe me when I say it looked better in my head. It's not a favorite, but I thought I'd share anyway. I'm also pretty sure that it was too warm to be in corduroy. Unrelated to all my complaints, I did score these shoes in-store at Belk for half off the sale price - got 'em for $30!

Recent Drugstore Favorites $10 or Less

I love finding products at the drugstores that are worth speaking about; it's like winning the lottery. Well, not really, but it's an awesome feeling to know you've purchased something (usually) for less than $10 that's of great quality. Here are a few recent products I adore, use on a daily basis, and that you can snatch up at your local drugstore!

I am a stickler for putting on my Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer; however, it is unnecessary when I used these Color Tattoo shadows. They are incredible! There are a variety of colors, it's easy to apply, and it doesn't crease - and, best part, it looks the same at the end of the day as it did in the morning when you applied it! I have Bad to the Bronze, Tough as Taupe, and Pomegranate Punk

I always go back and forth between liquid liner and eyeliner pencils. For the past several months I've been on a pencil kick because of these bad boys. They are comparable to higher-end brands - usually compared to Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On pencils. I love pursuing makeup stores and I have swatched these pencils side by side. There's no difference - they both go on smoothly and I can rub over them until my had is red, and they don't budge. The only difference is that NYX's pencils are significantly less expensive.

I love this whole line - not just because the colors stay put throughout the day, but all the pallets are gorgeous! I love the Addictive one especially. Three of the colors are matte and the taupe color has only a slight shimmer - which is great in moderation during the day. The pigmentation isn't as great as some higher-end shadows, but the colors are buildable and it's really not an issue for me. As I mentioned earlier, I always wear my eyeshadow primer, so I lay that on before applying these colors, but so far they've always lasted all day.

I'm in love. It's a lip balm in lipstick packaging and these make my lips incredibly moisturized and soft. some of them have a light sheen of color and others are just to renew that pout! I have more of these than I should admit to, so I'll stay quiet.

Do you have any recent favorites?

Green

boots: Hunter, shirt: j crew (similar - just smaller print),
pants: c/o Karen Kane, trench: F21 (similar)

Hooray! I finally made a decision on the color Hunter boots I want. I'd mentioned previously that I had my heart set on red. Don't get me wrong, I still love the red, but something about the classic, green boots has always been lingering over my decision. Perhaps that's what took me so long to decide. Anyway, I finally decided and I could not be happier! I love the green! They're subtle enough for any look, but they still have that vibrant green. I'd definitely recommend this color!

All Black

sweater: GAP, leggings: Target, boots & bag: Steve Madden (similar)

I've worn this previously, but never snapped a photo - and I kind of love this all black ensemble, so I wanted to share. The only difference is last time I wore my black pumps instead. That's what I love about this look - boots in the day, heels at night. The sweater and legging combo make this amazingly comfortable to wear, but the all black and shimmer in the sweater make it chic and sophisticated. It's perfect for the weekend.

Back Road

F21 shorts, H&M top, Merona sweater, Guess booties (similar)

Friends, meet my little back road. Between getting off of work at 4, having a 25 minute commute, and the sun setting by 5, I have little sunlight to work with when documenting outfits. This little road is close by and it's where I've been going. Hope you like it, cause it's here stay - until the days get longer.

Dots and Bows

booties: Guess (similar
earrings: c/o Jess LC

I planned this look in my head weeks ago; I finally got around to pulling it all together - and I love it! It might be one of my all time favorite looks. It's non-fussy, feminine, and comfortable. It's also pretty versatile as I could easily wear it on a date, girls night out, or, for some, to work (not my work, obviously). I guess I'll go ahead and label this favorite look of 2012.

Working Out

pants: c/o Purusha, sweater: LL Bean, shoes: Nike Free Run

Being that it's a brand new year, some places already have bikinis out on the floors (ahem, Target), and summer will be here before I even realize it, I'm starting a workout program. This week officially starts: Mission Get In Shape. My brother-in-law found great success in the Couch to 5K program, so I'm going with that. I think I'll also throw some push ups and sit ups in the mix. I'm ridiculously out of shape, it's embarrassing; so hopefully this program will do the trick without me hating it the first week.

I have a new pair of pants to run in thanks to the sweet Hayley at Purusha. She makes everything herself! Her products are marketed towards yoga, but I've tested them out - you can run in them too! The are comfy for my workouts as they allow me to move around without restrictions - and they're a gorgeous blue color that I can stare at all day long! They are also great for long road trips or lounging around the house. Definitely my new favorite leggings! Check out all of her pieces on her Etsy shop!

Review: Invista LYCRA

I recently had the privilege of trying out a pair of jeans that were made with INVISTA's LYCRA fabric. It's a type of miracle ingredient that's embedded into top denim brands (7 For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, DL 1961). This fabric gives the jeans a little somethin-somethin so they hug your lower half in ways you've always wanted! It gives the perfect fit and, best of all, it keeps that perfect fit through the day and from wear to wear. It's pretty amazing.

I wore my jeans over the weekend doing weekend-thing. I strutted around on this dirt road, went out to eat, did a bit of shopping, and ran a few necessary errands. The jeans hugged me perfectly from the am to the pm.  And then fit great (again) the very next day.

I am super picky when it comes to denim. I'm most picky in length and fit - and these jeans have made me a happy girl. I will definitely give this type of fabric another try as I do feel as if it's the reason they fit so well.

Definitely check out this type of fabric and definitely give it a try if you, like me, have a hard time finding good jeans that fit right. Hooray for perfect-fit jeans!

NYE Wear

top: c/o Karen Kane, skirt: F21, cardigan: target, clutch: vintage, pumps: UO

This was my NYE look. I originally started out in black pants, and after being underwhelmed by the look, I  switched out the pants for a colored skirt. Much better. I love this look so much - I plan on repeating it next time I have to get fancy.
