Rainy Weather

dress: BB Dakota, jacket: J Crew, shirt: GAP, boots: Hunter, necklace: c/o Kraftshop

The weather lately has been nothing but overcast and rain. I don't mind as it is a great excuse to live in my new Hunter boots. Although I like this look, I was tempted to wear this again

Happy Wednesday!

Gray

This weekend I happened to walk into my local GAP while a flash sale was happening. I scored a pair of jeans and this amazing, cozy sweater. The sweater was already on clearance and was an additional 40% off! Everything in the store was 40% off! I'm surprised I didn't walk out with a lot more (especially every color available in the sweater); proud of myself, nonetheless.

Relaxed

cardigan and tee: Target, jeans: H&M, loafers: Isaac Mizrahi (similar), clutch: DIY

Any variation of this type of outfit is my go-to look. Always. I love a good pair of jeans, a tee, and a cardigan - and flats. I try to mix it up, but when I don't feel like thinking, or I just want to be comfortable, this is what I wear. It's almost like my grown-up version of a blankie. Or teddy bear. Except it's clothes.

Mardi Gras Dinner

Yesterday I spent about four hours (pretty much the time from when I got off work until bed time) preparing and making gumbo. GaGa, Chris's grandmother, shared her adapted recipe from Paula Deen's recipe with me and voila! We are having some friends over tonight for dinner and I thought this would be a perfect meal for Fat Tuesday!

Happy Mardi Gras!

It's Monday

Sleeping...
{via}

Recently, I've been doing as much of this as possible. I started feeling lousy on Valentine's Day evening, then Thursday it hit me hard. Maybe it was sinus-related or maybe it was a cold - I'm still not sure - maybe a combination of the two? The good news is that I'm feeling better! I hate being sick. I mean, I enjoy having an excuse to sleep all day or, at least, stay in my pajamas and watch movies in bed, but being sick is so miserable and annoying. I'm glad it's over; however, now it's Monday and I want to be back in bed.

Pink and Red

Happy Valentine's Day!

I bet you're looking at these pictures thinking, "Wow, Linley, you're really festive." Well, yes, I do enjoy obnoxiously participating in holiday festives; however, today I am being trendy. Or, at least, trying. If you hop over to Everybody, Everywear, you'll see this month's theme is Pink and Red - and if you read this post, you'll see what I wish I were wearing today instead.

White and Furry

top: Old Navy (similar), pants: GAP (similar), vest: c/o Karen Kane, boots: Franco Sarto
earrings: c/o Jess LC, necklace: c/o Kraftshop

OK, I've incorporated two winter-esq looks I've been wanting to wear during winter - all winter-white and a fur vest. Why has it taken me two, three months into winter to wear these? I live in AL, people. Winter this year has been in the 60's or warmer. However, this past weekend it has actually (kind of)  felt like winter down here and I had to take advantage. I honestly am having a hard time getting dressed as I haven't really had to wear warm outfits in two years (I miss you, NC mountains).

For the record, I feel like I should hop a plane to a fancy ski lodge and sit around, by a warm fire, sip hot chocolate, and watch people. Who's with me?

On a non-ski-trip related note, I added buttons on the left side of my site for you to follow me on Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter - if you want, of course. Oh, and I made a new badge.

Pleats

dress: Belk, cardigan, belt, & tights: Target, bag & boots: Steve Madden (similar)

I wore this over the weekend, but never had a change to take photos, so I'm wearing it again. I love this look for fall/winter and I love this dress as it can easily be transformed through the seasons.

I don't know about y'all, but I'm really ready for the weekend.

Blush

blouse: c/o Karen Kane, skirt: F21 (similar),
leather jacket: LC via Kohl's (similar), shoes: c/o Modcloth (similar)

Sorry for the absence. Apparently I need several days to recover from meet-up weekends. I'm still living out of my suitcase like a college kid, there are piles of laundry on the floor around the house, and we have had some form of frozen dinner the past two nights. And I'm still yet to feel rested-up. My life is much like this pin.  Needless today (two days late), I hope your weekend was as awesome as mine!

Hello, Weekend!

In a little while Chris and I are heading to Atlanta. Two friends from grad school live there and two others are driving down from Raleigh and Charlotte. It's a reunion that doesn't happen as often as we'd all like - so I'm super excited to see their faces and spend the weekend roaming the city!

Hope you all have a great weekend as well!
