My Go-To Uniform

This is my go-to uniform. A blouse + any bottom. Shorts, skinny jeans, leggings, or a skirt. You can't go wrong. Shorts and flats make it casual - colored skinny jeans and pumps make it dressy. It's my all-time favorite combo. And that front-tuck? Yes, please! My closet is loaded with blouses. I can't write it enough - this is my favorite combo. Have I mentioned that? It's easy and comfortable and versatile - three things I am all about.
What's you're go-to uniform?

An Off the Shoulder Dilemma

I'm not one to completely give into seasonal trends. I prefer a classic, versatile wardrobe and investing in pieces that can been worn for many seasons; however, off the shoulder and bell sleeves have me giddy this year. There have been very few bell sleeve shirts I've tried on and not purchased.

This weekend I wore an off the shoulder number. While it's completely gorgeous and flattering, it's not comfortable or functional. If I raised my arms above 10-degrees the shirt popped up over my shoulders. It was a constant game of adjusting my shirt and I don't have that kind of time. Anyone else have this problem? Am I just a rookie to the off the shoulder game? Are there tricks to this? While the shirt is gorgeous and perfectly flattering, it will likely get lost in my closet. It's too much.

The bell sleeves though, you're going to be seeing them a lot. I can't get enough. Through the recent trends of florals, lace, romantic fabrics and cuts, I've realized my inner self is a boho princess. I want to wear flowy, floral dresses every day and not have a care in the world. Then I remember I have a one-year old and a two-year old and it's back to reality.

What are your favorite spring pieces?

Pink Paisley

dress // c/o PinkBlush

I'm backkkk! I never really went anywhere, but it has been quite some time since my last outfit post. Why? I'm a stay at home mom that really only gets out of the house for appointments, errands, and the occasional leisurely shopping trip. Otherwise, I'm in my maternity leggings, a sweater, and tennis shoes. Not quite blog worthy; however, incredibly functional and comfortable.

A lot has probably changed since you last saw a picture of me. Despite the convincing photographs, I'm not actually wearing white, sheer stockings - I'm just that lilly white right now. Yikes. And although I look as if I am smuggling an over-sized basketball, that's actually a baby that is (thankfully) staying put and growing!

I will say, I am slightly disappointed in myself for not taking advantage of dressing my baby bump this time around. When I went on bed rest so early in my last pregnancy and then delivered at 23 weeks, I felt robbed of being able to shop and wear pieces that look cute with a bump underneath them. However, my priorities throughout this current pregnancy have also been incredibly different now that a one year old occupies all of my being - from the time I wake up until the time she goes to bed. Such is life and I would not change it.

So snapping a picture when I actually look decent has been on the back burner. Until now. Check out this dress!

I've recently had the honor to collaborate with PinkBlush Boutique. Have you heard of them? They are a trendy, online boutique that offer clothes (and a ton of dresses) for women, maternity, plus size, nursing and even baby! They offer such an adorable and wide selection for maternity, but when I saw this particular dress, I had to have it! Yes, it's gorgeous, but even better than that, it's comfortable!

If you're in the market for maternity clothes or any type of pretty clothing, then hop over to ShopPinkBlush and get to browsing. Lightweight, bright-colored dress season is upon us and I'm confident you can find something!

Happy Place

Jacket: JCP {J Crew version}
Clutch: GiGi NY

Now that Sadie Ann is home, I typically only leave the house for doctor appointments and occasionally on the weekends. So I'm trying to take advantage of those outings and wear something other than a tee and jeans (and maybe sometimes sweat pants - ok, mostly sweatpants).  So here I am, wearing a complete outfit and sharing it! Go me!

Since I've already admitted my sweatpants problem, I'll go ahead and admit I was one of those women who went a little cray-cray for the Lilly for Target line. Honestly, I've been a fan of all theTarget collaborations, but most of them have been designers that aren't as well known as Lilly. So when I first heard about the collaboration, I thought two things: 1) Awesome! Affordable Lilly and 2) This is going to be bananas (Gwen Stefani bananas). And it was. I started following all the online hype and quickly realized if I wanted anything, I needed to stay up to order online and be at the store before it opens on Lilly Sunday. So I did and I was.

It paid off - I was able to get a lot of items I wanted. This romper was high on my list and I love it! Actually, I ordered it online and right before I placed my order, the site crashed. When the site was back up, almost everything was sold out already and I was certain I didn't get it - but I did! A few days later I received an email that my items had shipped - and I was thinking, What items?? The order went through and now it's mine! I can't wait to wear this comfy beauty on long car rides and at the beach. So perfect! Did any of you go cray for Lilly?

Lots of lightly worn and new items on my Shopping blog:

Hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend. It's back to the grind today. This week I am definitely working for the weekend as we have plans for a mini-vacay to the gulf coast starting Thursday night. Here's hoping the week moves quickly. Happy Monday!

Leopard + Yellow

dress: c/o Paperwhite
pumps: Nine West

One of the best parts about having this blog is learning about new companies. Paperwhite reached out to me to review a few of their pieces - and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. Their clothes are comfortable, functional, and versatile - three things I love and usually require of any items going into my closet. Lately, I've been sticking with pieces that are classic, so I feel like a bit of a daredevil wearing this leopard dress - and I love it. The dress is designed as a shift, but I've never been happy with how I look in a shift, so I belted it and it's perfect.

Check out their site or find them in a store near you

After a few photos of just me, the girls insisted they get into a picture.

My girls were photo-bombing most of my pictures. Since they did such a good job of getting tails and snouts in the majority of my pictures, I decided to share one.

Over the weekend I got together with some of my friends from the hospital where I previously worked. We ate, drank, and played games. I'm in love with wearing jeans and a white tee. It's a classic and it's incredibly comfortable. Turns out, if you put a nice jacket/blazer over the tee and where some pumps, you turn casual to chic. I love it and it's my current go-to look. Happy Monday!

Maroon

My pictures initially started out like this, but the wind was out of control and the sun was blinding. So I moved on to shade.

I didn't mention it in my previous post, but I am now working for a home health company. I basically do home visits to provide my therapy. And I'm only working part time. It's kind of awesome and I'm pretty excited about it. One of the perks of my new job is that I can wear whatever I want. So I can wear this one day and scrubs the next. So I look forward to more outfit posts! Hope you all had a great Monday and are now pushing through Tuesday!

An Extra Long Weekend

sweater // Kinnucan's {similar}
tee: Target
shorts: Banana Republic
shoes: TJ Maxx {similar}

Good morning! As you are reading this, Chris and I are driving five hours north east into the Appalachian mountains of my home state North Carolina. We're having a mini fall vacation meets birthday getaway and I could not be more excited! I've already warned Chris he may have to drag me away on Monday - I can't promise I will be willing to leave when this trip is over.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Covered in Lace

shoes: Nine West {similar} via TJ Maxx
clutch: thrifted
sunnies: Ray Ban
jewelry: MK, DY, DY, Jess LC

This dress. A perfect date night dress. Also a perfect wedding, cocktail hour, girls night out, fancy brunch, or any-occasion-where-you-want-to-feel-like-a-million-bucks dress. I love this dress. It's form fitting and flattering without being overly sexy. But still quite sexy. It doesn't show too much of anything. And the combination of all these things makes it the perfect dress in my book. Do yourself a favor and add it to your wardrobe.

Peplum and Leather

top: c/o Karen Kane // pants: Cynthia Rowley via TJ Maxx // wedges: TJ Maxx {similar}
clutch: Francesca's // bracelets: c/o Style Lately, David Yurman // sunnies: Urban Outfitters

I'm literally in love with this top. I love the juxtaposition of the feminine peplum shape and then the edgy, leather shoulder detail. I can't get enough of it. I actually envisioned myself wearing this top with my leather pants; however, it will be deep into the winter months before I can even think of wearing leather pants here in Alabama.

blouse: TJ Maxx, sweater: Target, denim: H&M
shoes: Tory Burch, glasses: c/o GlassesUSA

I recently received these prescription glasses from GlassesUSA.com. My prescription changes so often (I usually walk out of the doctor's office with a new prescription every year - and they never get better - lucky me, right?) so I often only purchase one pair of glasses. So when GlassesUSA offered me a pair of glasses to review I was thrilled! I had actually been wanting a pair of black frames so I chose the Maysn eyeglasses and I love them! They are simple and classic - exactly what I wanted.

If any of you are getting tired of your current specs and want affordable, stylish frames, check out GlassesUSA. Use the coupon code Blog10 to take 10% off your purchase when you buy glasses! (They are also currently running a discount code for 30% off and free shipping - check out their site for details)

Also, yes, my hair is darker. I colored it about a week ago and it's already significantly faded. Oh well.

pants: GAP (similar here and here), chambray: GAP (similar), blazer: Target
pumps: UO (on sale!), sunnies: Oakley, purse: Longchamp

 In my opinion, leather pants can be tricky, but if done right they can look fabulous - otherwise, you may look like you should be walking the boulevard with smeared eye liner. #justsayin

I bought these bad boys last year on a whim (I happened to find the last pair, that happened to be on the clearance rack at GAP, and they happened to be my size. #howcouldisayno). I've only worn these a couple times (here and here), but every time I've stuck to a blouse and blazer/jacket combo. Just keeping it simple. I'm always a little nervous when I walk out of the house in leather pants, but I do love them!
