Daily Threads: Layers

top + belt: j crew {similar}
dress: target {similar}
cardigan: c/o karen kane {similar}

When it (sometimes, actually, rarely) get's cool during the warmer months, I like three things: longer length on top, shorter lengths on the bottom, and layers. Some cool air has rolled in and this outfit was born. It's beyond comfortable. The material from the dress and the cardigan is ridiculously soft - soft like I want to wrap up in them and take a long nap - and I'm not even tired. It's a perfectly casual, but put together, weekend look. Oh, I love the weekend.

I dig how you broke up the black on black layering. Great springy look.

Sometimes I see an outfit on a blog and I just HAVE to copy it... this is one of them! I love the gingham underneath, I'd probably try that, but I'm curious how a bright floral print might look too! Thanks for sharing, this is so, so cute!

PS After I saw this I wanted to get a casual black dress like this to copy you :), and I actually don't have one, (I bet a lot of girls already do!) - well if anyone can't afford the BCBG dress, Forever 21 has some seriously cheap alternatives, I found 3 great ones for under 15 bucks.

I love this so much, I don't even know how to express it.

It's too warm in Florida for me to ever wear it but I LOVE it!

Very cute outfit, love your sandals!

By throwing the longer layers on top, you can be ready at a moments notice, for the weather to suddenly get warmer again. And that's what we hope for.

Love your gold sandals too!

I love this look so much! I have yet to figure out how to layer in a super cute way--but you have no problem with it!

I always do the opposite when it gets cold in the summer months -- longer on bottom and shorter on top! But definitely layers, and I love yours!
