30for30: Time for Nine

Shortly after the above pictures were taken, then wind blew. A gust. A gust that knocked my tri-pod over. I saw it start to fall, lens first, and I ran. Leaped even. Probably with a wide open mouth and that deer in the head lights look. I ended up being about a foot too late. I knew at that moment the photoshoot was done. Lots of pieces inside the lens broke. Thank God it was just the lens and not the camera. The lens is on the way to Nikon to be repaird - if that's possible. I'm hoping it doesn't take months. I really would like it back for the 30 for 30. So I've resorted to my little Power Shot. The tripod and remote were so easy. So easy to shoot and so easy to take pretty places. Now self-timer is my life. Bummer.

Moving on to the outfit (I really needed to vent). I love this outfit. I've mixed grey, black, and brown, which may be against the rules to some, but not to me. This outfit is also slouchy and comfortable - which is always welcome on my body. And I love this infinity scarf. I got it last year at the Gap (on sale!) - it is so soft and so warm. Oh, and my nails match today's ensemble! They are a taupe with purple undertones. Fun!

Tunic: NY&Co.
Tights: NY&Co.
Belt: NY&Co.
Scarf: Gap
Socks: We Love Color
Boots: Steve Madden

I also had a fun new hair do I wanted to share. These would have been more fun to share if I could have taken them outside, with my Nikon, on my tripod...

Love your outfit and great location. It's too bad about your lens, hopefully it'll be back soon! But the indoor detail shots still look great! =)

I'm really loving the mixture of neutrals here...grey and brown in a favourite of mine...especially when it's grey clothes, and brown accessories

I think this is my favorite outfit yet! I'm especially loving how you wore the scarf!

Sadness about lens :(

My camera took a tumble today too. It's awful watching it happen and not being able to do anything about it! On a happier note, I love this outfit. It looks super cozy!

I'm really sorry to hear about your camera. Tragic!

So you are the 3rd person to taste who's outfit is similar to mine. Seriously, it's like deja vu! You'll see my NY & Co tunic tomorrow.

if this had happened to my bestie, i would have given her endless grief to the tune of "that's what happen when you buy nikons!" (i'm a canon loyalist) - but here, i will made a sad face and seriously mean it when i say "that's wretched". this had happened to my old camera. the worst part was watching it not only fall, but bounce once it hit the ground. you have my sympathies, i hope it can be fixed, and soon.

your hair looks really cute, too!

I love the mixing of all those neutrals! very nice.

that's terrible about your lens! Mine did a nose dive like that once too, but luckily I had a protective lens on it and the impact on the lens itself was minimal. If they can't repair it they'll send you a brand new replacement or a better replacement.

meanwhile, this is a beautiful casual outfit and you look super warm too!

I'm sorry to read about your camera. :( I do hope it gets fixed soon.

Also, I ate the leftovers of your recipe for dinner AGAIN tonight. It was uber tasty, AGAIN. :)

Oh, no! That's awful about your lens. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you can get it fixed. I love this outfit. That scarf looks SO warm and cozy. :) I rocked your side braid look today, and got lots of compliments.

Oh, no! What a shame about your camera. I'm living with a point and shoot right now, too, and they just don't do the job.

This outfit, on the other hand, is adorable.

So sorry to hear about your lens! Lucky that it wasn't the camera body though!

That's such a shame about your lens, hopefully it gets fixed soon! I also love the color combo, it looks so cute even if it is 'against the rules'.

Beautiful! I love the subtle color gradations, and all the texture play you've got going on. I just discovered your blog, and it's delightful! I especially like your down home recipes...I'm from Oregon, and southern cooking is the SHIT around here.
