Recently, I've been thinking about scheduling a hair appointment for a chop! When my hair gets a certain length, I'm usually really to get rid of it. I was sure I would chop my hair up to my chin after our wedding; it's a year later and I'm still loving the long hair. However, recently I've been considering a collar-bone length.
My hair is super long right now - perhaps longer than it's been for years, but I work in healthcare. It's not necessarily appropriate to be around patients leaning over them, giving them food, or being in their personal space with long, flowy curls all over the place. Most days I wear my hair either completely up or partially up - which isn't a big deal, but I have a lot of hair and when it's all up, all day long, I get headaches - weird, but true. So I'm thinking a chop might solve some problems.
There are pictures like this that make me want to run to the salon.
Then there are photos like this that make me want to keep my locks.
But, of course, there are always hair extensions.
What's a girl to do? What would you do?

Chop it! Chop it!! It's just hair it will grow back, that's my opinion when it comes to hair! And like you said you can always use hair extensions! Locks of love would love to have your beautiful locks! Do it, Do it!!!! :)
If anything, hair always grows back. I personally think that first haircut is adorable.

I love your hair. I think you should keep it somewhat long :)
You should totally cut it! Your hair is gorgeous as it is, but I think that collar bone length cut would look so cute on you. I just cut my hair up to my chin, and I feel like a new woman. Plus I've been a lot cooler with less hair. Go for it!

Ugh, I hate when my hair gets so heavy it gives me headaches! I think a shoulder length would look great on you. And like others have said....it always grows back. Can't wait to see what you do!
Chop it! I am constantly changing my hair, and I have found that my favorite length is around collar bone/ shoulder length!
I'd cut it! At least to a medium length. You can always grow it back. I'm sure it will be beautiful either way!!!
I struggle with this question almost every season. Because we were both given gorgeous hair, it's hard to cut off. Plus, we're both in our 20's which should lend us to keeping it longer. But sometimes you just need a change! And here's the great thing- the picture you posted with shoulder-length hair isn't that short, so it'll grow back quicker than you'd think! It might be just what you needed! I do agree with your comment related to being a nurse. If you're going to be pulling it back more, it would be nice to have to pull back less of it. However, if it's longer you can braid it and other things. It's a tough decision, but since it's summer, I'd go with a cut! How long has it been since it's been that short on you? Change it up!
Good luck! Can't wait to see what you choose!

I forgot to mention!! I had the same dilemma as you this summer, and so without sacrificing the length, I chopped the front of my hair off to my nose so I have a kind of pseud-bang. It took a lot of the weight off it and I still felt like a totally new woman! Try that!

I say keep it only because every time I've cut my hair in the past, I've cried for three days and hated it until it grew out. If your hair is so thick/heavy that it gives you headaches to wear it up, leave the length and get it thinned out.
I always do this very same thing. I grow my hair out and then chop it. I don't know about you but usually I like my new hair for about 2 weeks and then I'm missing the length. But I know what you're talking about I get headaches when my hair is up too. Maybe think about it for a while and if you're still wanting a change then just do it. It grows back anyhow.
I love this style on Olivia. I think what adds to its cuteness though is the center part that she does, which is definitely not for everyone. You usually do a deep side part - so maybe you should experiment with a middle part to see if that is an option for you (if you are wanting to copy this exact hair style). I think you would look great at this length and everyone above is right - it will grow back! :)
I recently cut 12 inches off to donate and now my hair is about shoulder length like that pic & I love it so much more. It's so much faster to style and perfect for super hot summertime. I say chop it :)
You should try trimming it slowly, a couple of inches at a time rather than just chopping it all off at once. I totally understand how you feel though, I have the same issue of headaches when my hair is long, except for me it doesn't matter if it's up or down, once it gets a certain length it's just too heavy for my poor little head :/
You will totally look cute either way, but girls with thick hair can totally rock a short shag like no other.

Chop it! With very few exceptions, I almost always like people's hair better shorter :-) I do love your long hair, but I think you'd look amazing with it shorter!
Your hair is gorgeous anyways, but I do love Olivia's cut. So pretty. And like everyone seems to be sayiing; it grows back! :)
While both cuts are great remember that you need whatever hair that works best for your lifestyle.
Cut it! It can always grow back. Go for change. You could have fun styling the new length.
I'm going the my hairstylist next week and I'm still unshure of what I want.I'm definitely asking for Zooey's bangs but as the lenght goes, I don't know. But it always grow back ! I'm not helping much, sorry !
I'm the same way... I want to cut my hair BAD but haven't got the cajones to do it. I think I may closer to the end of summer. A girl can only braid her wet hair for so long. :)
You should chop it. That first photo is super cute and I think it would look even cuter on you. Go for it cutie!
i've been growing mine out, too, but i'm starting to wonder if i look best with just-past-the-shoulder hair. i love both these pics...but it sounds like a cut might be right for you at this time! :)
I think you should go for some layers first. I have cut my hair super short a few times and each time I regretted it. I advise going for layers and an inch or two of the bottom. If it's not enough to ease your headaches then you can go shorter. Hair does always grow back....but it takes a LONG time to grow hair long. Just my thought though ;).
always a struggle, ALWAYS!! but the good thing is that it will always grow back, it just takes time!!

totally chop it! it'll always grow back and change is fun!
i love long hair, so do men, but "chopping" it off to olivia's length isn't that drastic. i say, it's summer, do it! it's so chic. hair grows back.
I love having short hair! You should do it and if you hate it, you can always grow it out again or do extensions!

At least with long hair, you can pull it back so its not falling into your face or people's personal space. If its short, you'll have trouble pulling it back to get it out of the way, but it will still somewhat fall into your way.
I'm having the same exact problem right now! I've chopped it and donated it to Locks of Love once already, and now do I do it again and have flirty summer hair, or do I relish my long hair? It's impossible to decide...but I'm sure you'll be beautiful no matter what you do!
Keep it long! I know I always regret it after an implusive visit to the salon for shorter hair! <3
