Over the Weekend

This weekend we traveled over to Savannah to visit with husband's family. It was his mother's birthday celebration (her birthday is really today - happy birthday frannycakes!). Luckily enough husband's sister, brother and wife, and grandparents were all able to come in as well! It was so nice to have everyone together.

Saturday we ventured over to Hilton Head for lunch. We ate at a place called The Crazy Crab - and it was delicious! Below you'll see one of my new favorite soups - She Crab Soup! Nom! I'm not really a shellfish-kinda-gal (or seafood gal, for that matter), but I love good She Crab soup. After lunch, the ladies headed over to the outlets for some serious shopping and the men went back to Savannah.

For dinner we went to Tybee Island to a place called The Crab Shack. Everyone generally goes there for a huge platter of Low Country Boil (you'll see the picture below). All the seafood you can image. I ate the corn, potatoes, and sausage - and a few pieces of shrimp. All dipped in melted butter.

After dinner we had  a celebration back at the Jackson household. There was birthday cake, banana cake, doughnuts, cookies, and fudge. We all went into sugar comas shortly after "Happy Birthday."

Before cutting into the cake, we sang Happy Birthday. At the last birthday celebration husband volunteered to do an interpretive dance to the song. It was hilarious. Since it was such a hit, Frannycakes requested one for her special day. You'll see it in the video. I left the sound on for that portion and it's sped up -so we sound like the munchkins in the Wizard of Oz.Warning: when we all get together, we get silly. Enjoy!

Such a cool video...love the super speed haha. Your dog is so cute! Glad you had a great weekend with family! And Savannah is a beautiful location...gotta love good ole southern food! :)
Looking forward to the knotted bun tutorial! (I watched your curling one and that helped me a lot with my lack of skills with a curling iron lol) My hair is pretty long but I never really style it...and I wash it every other day so day 2 unless I curl it, it just hangs and looks gross...hopefully my attempt at the bun will look cute and I can wear my hair like that!
Sorry for this unnecessarily long comment! :)

Great pictures! Oh too bad I can't see the video because it says "This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds". x

You know I CAN see the resemblance between BIL to RG. How funny! Plus I find it completely amusing that anything related to RG makes you of moi :)

I know it's not nice to laugh about what obviously is a typo, and I'm really sorry, but... I can't help but tear up a little about "crap soup" ;-) Yeah... I have a really sophisticated humor ^^

It's so funny I feel like you go to all these restaurants that I've been to. My family went to Hilton Head every summer growing up and we used to love The Crazy Crab. Delicious! It was always the first place we went after our long drive to get there!
