This last picture is after the storm had passed. You can tell the sun is out and right above us was blue skies.
Today and tomorrow we have more thunderstorms rolling through - although, I don't these will be as severe. We are participating in our weekly 'Lazy Sunday' - watching movies on Netflix and wearing lounging clothes all day. Our kind of Sunday!
For the record: we are intelligent people. If we had felt the weather and tornado were threatening enough, we would have stayed inside - at the most central location of our place. Any time the wind picked up, we went back in.
Being a native midwesterner, I had to laugh when I saw the pic of someone standing outside. When we were kids whenever the alarms outside went off, everyone in the neighborhood went out to their front lawn to looking for the storm! We heard many sirens but never saw any damage :)
ReplyDeletei have to second Betsy's comment above. I've lived in the Midwest my entire life and a tornado warning (which freaks the heck out of me incidentally) always brought people outside to take a look. it's not a matter of intelligence (or lack thereof), just inevitable!

p.s. love your blog!
Glad to hear that everithing is allright. And I would prefer to stay at home too, because sometimes the mother nature is a tough customer.

Glad the storms weren't too serious. I grew up in the mountains and we never had tornado warnings. Then I moved to KY where it's flatter, I suppose, and we get them often here. The sirens have only gone off once and it was so scary!
ReplyDeleteRandom, but I just read your "about" section and saw that you are a SLP! Me too!
Wow! Those clouds look really scary. We had thunderstorms last night. I saw a blue flash of lightning and though it was a police car at first! We haven't had a bad storm since the summer.
ReplyDeletecrazy but cool photos!!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your lazy sunday. i hope to be doing the very same. it's storming here too!
Scary stuff!!! Our tornado sirens went off last week, and we had to seek shelter in our basement. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - that sounds terrifying but those are some awesome pictures!
ReplyDeleteYour Sunday sounds heavenly. One day I'll get to do that again!

Glad there was no damage, especially to that beautiful black Challenger in the parking lot :-)
ReplyDeleteYikes! Thank goodness the tornado stayed away.
ReplyDeleteStorm clouds do make for awesome photos though...
Aww...I grew up in Texas and Kansas and this makes me miss the spring storms. I'm in NYC now, and we barely even get thunder here.
