Husband's parents came from Savannah to spend the weekend with us! It was so nice to have family in the house and to just be able to spend time together. Saturday we spent the day venturing the area. We went to Selma - where they all used to live when husband was in elementary school, then we went into Montgomery to see the Capitol and downtown area and visit a flea market.
Going across the Edmund Pettus Bridge and a downtown building in Selma.
Photoshoot in the car and the house they lived in while living in Selma.
Scenes from the flea market - vintage clothing and baskets full of doilies.
Gorgeous milk-glass pieces and the cutest little booth in the building.
This flea market was amazing. It was three floors and over flowing with treasures and pieces that could use new life. I loved it in there and will be back soon to explore more!
And then there was Super Bowl Sunday - where we relaxed and ate snacks all day.
i love these pictures -- my fave is the last one of the little booth with the twinkly lights. so fun and cute at the same time! and i love having family in the house for the same reason. :)

ReplyDeleteLinley! You don't know me, but I read your blog and really like it! I live in southern Alabama, and am wondering what this flea market is in Montgomery. Where is it and what's it called? We have no good flea markets down here, so I'd love to check out the one in Montgomery.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Emily
@meghan - no he is not from fl. he just likes the hat... haha. (that probably makes people who are from the area or like the team upset...)
ReplyDelete@emily - it's the eastbrook flea market. it's on coliseum blvd, which is right off of the atlanta highway. it's fantastic - you will love it! let me know how it goes! (:
You and your husband are too cute!! Glad you guys had a fab weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy in-laws live near Selma in Marion! For a second, I thought this awesome flea market was in Selma and was wondering why we had never been. lol Then I realized it was in Montgomery. Bummer. Maybe next time we'll venture over that way and check it out.

ReplyDeleteThis is my kind of place :) lovely.
ReplyDeleteI stumbled upon your blog after seeing your post on Kendi Everyday (love her!). I'm becoming quite the nerd with my love of fashion blogs so I decided to take a little peak at your blog. I read your "about me" and thought this was the coolest thing ever. I'm finishing up my last semester of graduate school in speech-language pathology and my husband is finishing his degree in mechanical engineering. Anyway, I just thought that was a fun little tidbit, but my husband just rolled his eyes at me. :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I think your blog is great and your styling is just darling.
Look at those cute and lacey doilies! These photos are soo cool!

ReplyDeleteAh, Montgomery. Love that place and miss it. My family roots are in Alabama, and I would move back there in a heartbeat. It has fabulous antique stores! And the history is cool, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI am going to Savannah next week on a little vacation. Since you are familiar with that area. Do you have any suggestion on any good places to eat? Or cheap things to do?
