First things first - this sweater. It's definitely not the most flattering thing in the world. In fact, it's not really flattering at all, but it's like wearing a fashionable snuggie and I'm all for it. Additionally, it's pretty much an exact dupe for this $300+ sweater. (yeah!)
Second thing - a nice story. I went to Michael's today (the craft store, not some boy) and rummaged through all their Christmas things which were 80% off (80% off!!!). I found a fabulous little tree. It was about two feet high, sat on a faux tree stump, and had some snow and mini pine-cones on it - it's really cute, I promise! It did not have a price tag, but with the sale going on it couldn't have been over five bucks (that was my thinking). I get up to check out and I preface the item's condition (last one, no tag) and then place it on the counter. The lady looks at me, "scans" the bottom, and says, "Not a problem." Wasn't that so nice!
Third thing - my hair. Does it look any different? Probably not since these aren't the best pictures. However, it looks and feels different in real life. I started using Wen yesterday. I'm pretty notorious for staying up late, watching infomercials, and then ordering things I don't need. I'm that girl. I ordered Wen back in grad school (late one night, of course) and used it up, but didn't re-order. It was nice, but I wasn't really sure if it made a difference. Well this time was different. (And for the record, my mom ordered this batch - late night, watching infomercials - it runs in the family). She didn't really care to use it and gave it all to me.
So after washing, instead of drying my hair upside down and curling, I did a blow-out with a round-brush. It has body, it is light and bouncy, and it is incredibly soft. If you've never heard of it before, you should definitely look into it. Its difference is that it doesn't strip your hair down (like shampoo does) and therefore makes it shiny and healthier. Go read up on it and watch the videos - it definitely worked for me!
I JUST watched the Wen infomercial last week when I was up sick and I couldn't decide if I wanted to purchase it or not. You sold me. Thank you. Wen should give you some kind of commission...or even better, sponsor your blog!
ReplyDeleteI used Wen once! Wow, that sentence felt weird. I digress--I am obsessed with infomercials. Something about them...OH! And you look oober cute. I love that sweater, even if it is just a glorified snuggie ;)

ReplyDeleteand i've heard of Wen but have never tried it myself. it's good to know that it's working for you. will have to keep an eye out for it myself!

Small Time Style
I love the sweater!!
ReplyDeleteYou have reminded me that I need to get to Michael's before all of the clearance is gone!!
I'm all about the poncho (and snuggie too). And for the record I did notice your hair looked a bit different. Let the record note that I like it! Okay, tis all for today friend.
ReplyDeleteoooooo i want this sweater! is it recent?
ReplyDeleteyour hair looks great!! and i really like the sweater, very comfy :)
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is awesome. I want it. It looks cozy and way more stylish than a sweatshirt.
ReplyDeleteI'm a total sucker for late night infomercials. I just want to buy everything.
ReplyDeleteOMG that wen stuff looks amazing. I wish they sold it in stores because if there's one thing I hate, it's paying for shipping and handling. :(
those big stripes are awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is amazing. So cozy & I love the stripes. Even better that it's like a glorified, stylish Snuggie!
ReplyDeleteI kind of have a feeling that you could just paste together baby blankets and look incredible. That poncho is so chic on you!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! I'm a new follower and I really like your sense of humor/writing!
ReplyDeleteWho cares about it not being flattering! It's adorable and comfy, loved the outfit, btw cute background looks like a lego wall haha :P ... Jealous about you 80% off at Michaels!

you know, i always said that when i turned 18 i would get something from an infomercial, but... i haven't done that yet! it's been about three years now... haha. anyway, you look so cute and comfy in the poncho (:
ReplyDeleteOkay seriously, how do you make a poncho so adorable? Also I've definitely heard of Wen but never had the courage to order from an infomercial! I'll have to think about it now :)
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for infommericals. They're so good at selling their products! I swear.

The first thing I noticed when I looked at your pictures was how awesome your hair looked. I need to try Wen out now!
ReplyDeleteI'm not big on ponchos, but you have me reconsidering. Yours is perfect (color, stripes, style) and looks amazing on you! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat looks soo warm! I love it. I have a hard time finding a balance between warmth and stylish in the winter. It can be very easy to turn sloppy with oversized sweaters and big snow boots. This finds that perfect balance. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and I'm in love! You have such amazing style.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely beautiful! That sweater looks sososo cozy.
ReplyDeleteKristine. Or Polly.
love this sweater!!! i had been eying the cream & tan one but never went back to get it. looks fab on you!
ReplyDeleteI am having major boot jealousy and your hair looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSo, I've never heard of WEN (thanks for sharing) and I love your sweater (yay for fashionable snuggies)!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of the Wen. Clearly I don't watch enough infomercials.
ReplyDeleteYou hair looks fabulous, though, so now I'm intrigued! The Auspicious Life
FWIW, Sally's Beauty has a knockoff WEN called "Hair One" for a bit cheaper.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've heard from people using WEN that if their styling products have silicones in them, WEN might not get all the buildup out - just FYI, you might need a regular shampoo now and then!
Oh I LOVE that sweater. I am currently not allowed in Target b/c I've put myself on a shopping (while I do 30x30 remix challenge) and I can't be trusted to go there for the "soap" or "birthday card" that I "need" and not walk out spending $100+ with that sweater in my bag. Maybe it'll still be there in 20 days! hah!

I have a pancho sweater similar and I always struggle with what to wear it with. I'm proud to announce that due to your daily threads post, I paired it with my black turtle neck, skinny jeans, and boots and have gotten at least 5 compliments! Thanks for the idea! Love the blog and happy to be a new folower :)
