This wasn't originally outfit twenty-one, but I most definitely like it better. I feel like sometimes an outfit is better when it was evolved rather than planned. I feel like this is very tartan-meets-harry potter-esq. And I wish my lens was here, I feel like this little hand-held doesn't capture this outfit to its fullest. I really love this look today. I even tried my first knotted belt! I like that a lot too.
EDIT: Just for the record... I'm wearing a navy and green plaid scarf and a solid navy dress. Not a plaid dress. These pictures seem to be deceiving. My bad. Also, did not realize cream colored tights were classified as "toddler wear" - hmm. I hope you are are being honest when you say I wear them well and aren't showing your friends these picks and saying, "Look, she's crazy. Definitely tapping into her inner Toddler-Linley. She need to grow up"
Dress: Target
Cardigan: Taret
Belt: mom's, stolen
Scarf: Ross
Tights: Target
Shoes: Vera Wang
I like the knotted belt! Cute!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even notice you had a scarf on!! So pretty :D
ReplyDeleteOff the cuff outfits seem to work best for me too! I love this look!
ReplyDeleteoooh i also love the knotted belt!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the cutest 30 for 30 outfits I've seen! Just found your blog, loving it. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for Harry Potter {which yes plaid is very HP} and for knotted belts {I'm sporting one today too - it's all apart of my hot mess ensemble}!

I thought that scarf was part of your dress...way to get creative!!!

Great outfit!! And I LOVE your hair today - I wish my hair did that :)
ReplyDeleteSmall Time Style
I love your white tights with this outfit...at times I thought that white tights were just for kids...but you've proved that wrong!
ReplyDeletematching tartan and white was really cool, like a grown-up version of boarding school - very cool!
ReplyDeletesuch a cute outfit!! i love the dress & the knotted belt :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute and cozy!
ReplyDeleteDang you ROCK that belted scarf look! I have not been able to master that, but your outfit is getting me thinking about what I can do with my 30 items... I migth need to pull out a long scarf and belt it!
ReplyDeleteAdorable as always dear :) Looks super comfy!

What a great way to use a scarf to jazz up an outfit! Super cute. And you're rocking the hard-to-wear white tights too! Amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice look, the plaid scarf and white tights make me love this look even more!

Wow, way to rock the white tights! In my bounty of tights, I don't think I have one white pair...I think for some reason I associate those with being a toddler....probably for no other reason than they were the color I wore when I was a kid. Anyways, they look great on you here, and I am seriously adoring that printed Target dress. What a great score!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great seasonal look. Love the scarf & the belt. And I totally did the same thing this morning: wore something completely different from what I planned. Oh well! Sometimes it works out better anyway.
ReplyDeleteI love this look, the scarf, belt and dress all go nicely. The knotted belt is a great look.
ReplyDeleteYou can pull of white tights. I own a pair, but I have been too afraid to wear them in public. I'm a little jealous!
Thanks for clarifying about the dress and scarf... but if the pictures make it look like a plaid dress then you are remixing like a champion!! I think it's a great pairing. I also like the white tights and sandals, very cute. I usually forgo my sandal-heels through winter but this seems like a great way to get wear out of them.
ReplyDeleteI love that blackwatch plaid scarf!! It looks awesome...and I didn't know your tights were classified as toddler wear either. I have some otk socks/thigh highs that are very similar. I guess I'm a toddler, too. Funny how when one reaches a
ReplyDelete"certain age" that is a refreshing thing. haha!!

I think your outfit is great, even the white tights. It can be difficult for most people to pull of that look, but it seems so natural on you. Plus the plaid scarf adds a great dimension to your whole outfit. =)
ReplyDeleteHa! The pictures ARE deceiving, I totally thought that was a plaid dress! The scarf really makes the outfit... and this IS very tartan-meets-harry potter-esque! :P
ReplyDeleteLove the cream tights!
xo

It does look a plaid dress. But that is not a bad thing. It makes it look like you have a whole new dress.
ReplyDeleteThe Auspicious Life

ReplyDeleteDont know why but for some reason I love the fact that you are from Alabama!!!

Well! I thought it was a plaid dress!! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteI really want to like Harry Potter. I try and try. But I never can get into it. Unlike this HP-ish outfit you have on....I'm definitely feelin' it. CUTE!
I really really love that scarf belted over the dress. And I really like the tights, I think maybe we're all trained that black and other darker tights = slimming, and white tights = not slimming so stay far away! But your legs always look super super long and so I think we're all just in awe that you pull them off so well.
ReplyDeleteOr something. In any case, I think I'm going to buy some after the challenge too.
i have the same cardigan from target, and have it in my remix! i love it. i really like the belted look!
ReplyDeletedeceiving pictures are deceiving. love the belted scarf!
